Shoes are like books, every pair tells a story. Here’s what your shoes might tell you.

Your feet are the foundation of support for the rest of your body. Think of a house whose foundation has collapsed. The whole house tilts to one side. The same thing happens with your body. If your feet are misaligned it stresses the rest of your musculoskeletal system. And all your joints and muscles. If you’re local come in for a complementary foot and posture scan evaluation. Take good care of yourself. Click here to read more about my Foot Levelers service and book online. Shoes are like books, every pair tells a story. Here’s what your shoes might tell you.

Heel Wear As the heel of your shoe wears, it should wear evenly on both sides of the shoe. If one side of the heel is worn more than the other side, this indicates possible pronation and/or gait dysfunction.

Sole Wear Look at the soles of your shoes. From toe to heel, does one sole show wear that is creeping closer to the heel than the other? This is another indication of bodily imbalance, as your foot on this side is likely pronating more than the other, which is an indication of weak pelvic, thigh, and neck muscles on that side. Causing pain and instability. Typically, the shoe with the most wear is on the side where one has a knee, hip, or other problems.
