Remember to Take Care of Yourself
In winter, Nature gives us clear signs that more rest is due. Above and below the Equator, with fewer daylight hours, she’s bidding us to rest and to sleep more.
Sleep happens in cycles that last about 90 minutes. So, 6, 7.5 or 9 hours are best choices to make for satisfying sleep. 7.5 hours should be the norm and whenever possible sleep 9 hours or more in winter.
Now is a party time of year. Eating late, drinking alcohol and using caffeine to have the energy to get your duties done all lead to bad sleep. Do your best to avoid eating for at least 3 hours before bed. Keep alcohol consumption low and try herbal adaptogens – herbs that fortify you against stress – to have more energy during the day.
If you don’t have an herbal stress support supplement you trust, try Adrenal Distress Guard from Fullscript.
Or try Smile Into Your Distress, a 15 minute guided audio program to transform stress into fuel to power your days.
Remember to take good care of yourself. On an airplane they tell you to put on your oxygen mask first before helping others for a good reason. You can’t help anyone or ….. have holiday fun if you’re worn out from doing too much.
May all good come to you this holiday season and into the upcoming 2020 decade! For some reason just hearing 2020 makes me smile!
