Healthy Immune System Travel Tips

Dear reader

Lots of us are getting out and about traveling these days. How can you keep yourself from getting sick? There is the established concept that to keep your immune system strong and resilient you need to be exposed to germs. You may have heard that kids who don't regularly get outside or have pets tend to develop allergies more than those who do. That's because their immune systems have not been challenged so they are more vulnerable when they are challenged. Resilience is the key. Whether you get sick or not depends on two things: the strength of the bug versus the strength of your immune system. Your immune system gets stronger when it faces and overcomes challenges.

Today’s blog gives you DIY tips to improve your immune systems strength and resilience.

1. Drink electrolyte beverages. You can add Celtic or sea salt plus some honey to your water or purchase such drinks from any supermarket. The electrolytes replace those you lose from sweating. And help the water you drink be absorbed by your cells.

2. Get 7-9 hours of good sleep. Your body repairs and regenerates during sleep. You know about R&R - rest and relaxation. Traveling is often stressful arranging all the details of getting there and being away from home. Do your best to sleep more and relax during your travel time to recharge your body’s batteries.

3. Eat nutrient-rich foods as much as possible. Most of us let our healthy eating habits slide during vacations. To counter that trend, think of a rainbow with red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo and purple. Eating foods of different colors gives you a variety of healthy plant-based nutrients. And remember to eat high-quality protein and fats as well. You need all of those foods to build healthy cells in your body.

4. Take supplements for support. My favorite travel supplements are the mini shots of Immune Charge from Quicksilver. I take an Immune Charge shot when I get to the airport whenever I travel. And I haven’t gotten sick once. You can get these by setting up a Fullscript account for a 10% discount and free shipping for orders of $50 or more with this link. Look for the box of 12 individual Immune Charge Shots.

Let me know if I can support you in any way for healthy travel this summer and fall.

All the best!

FUN FACT

As part of a standard convention, pilots and co-pilots do not eat the same food before a flight in case of food poisoning (or worse). If one of the pilots is incapacitated (unable to leave the bathroom) then the other pilot can take over.
