Acne?

If you have acne, you know how embarrassing it can be. However, beyond the embarrassment, lies a greater issue. Acne is one way your body uses to tell you that it is in trouble in some way.

I had acne into my 30's . My problem was wheat and I had to work hard to avoid eating anything that contained wheat. As we all know, following a restrictive diet is difficult.

A colleague of mine, Sarah, has a different solution that's easier to follow than a restrictive diet. Maybe her solution will work for you or the person you car about who has acne.

Here is her story in her words:

I've always had difficulty with clear skin from the age of 15. I struggled most with my body acne, specifically cystic acne that would constantly surface on my upper back. I always blamed my genetics because my father and my brother had the same exact challenge growing up. In fact my dad would always apologize and empathize with me by letting me know he understood how I felt, and showing me his own scars from having back acne when he was my age.

Over 10 years went by and at the age of 27, I was still struggling with my back acne. I'd tried multiple dermatologists, estheticians - every acne treatment in the book including Accutane (oral medication that works for most people but is extremely devastating to your microbiome). One year ago, a naturopath recommended that I try supplements with GLA (Gamma Linoleic Acid) - an omega 6 that acts like an omega 3. I was familiar with GLA and knew that it was notorious for its skin benefits, but I was already taking a large dose of omega 3s a day, with no improvement to my skin. I brushed off the thought that it would ever help but decided to give it a go anyhow.

The recommended dose for GLA is anywhere between 250-300mg in one day. I supplemented with half this amount, using Nordic Naturals EPA with Concentrated GLA. I couldn't believe my eyes when just after two weeks my back acne had disappeared completely. And we are talking about someone whose back was COVERED in acne. I didn't want to get my hopes up too much, but for the first time in my life I could wear a swimsuit or a low hanging tank top and not worry about the acne covering my body. I had a new confidence and I couldn't be more ecstatic.

The proof in the pudding was when I went on a vacation down to Palm Springs and left my supplements behind. Just two days later, I began to get acne on my back again. I've tested the product out in this realm multiple times and it's never failed to show me that the GLA has helped clear up my skin.

I highly recommend anyone struggling with Rosacea, Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis or any skin condition give GLA a try. It's important to choose a high quality product and the best on the market is without a doubt: Nordic Naturals EPA with Concentrated GLA.
