Trauma Healing
Do you have problems that never seem to go away?
Have you ever wondered why your health problems keep coming back? When you think about bad things that happened to you in the past, are your memories just as strong as when they first happened? Does it seem like you get one problem fixed just to be replaced by another? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be suffering from unresolved trauma.
There are many types of trauma
Trauma comes in many forms. Have you been in an accident or several accidents that caused injuries that never went away completely? Were you the victim of mental, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse? Did you suffer from a natural disaster, extremes of heat or cold, or a near death experience? Have you been traumatized by medical treatment?
How do you cope?
In situations like that, your natural animal instinct is to fight or flee. But often that’s not possible. Instead you consciously or unconsciously try a second strategy. You freeze and shut down in one or more parts of your body, emotions, or mind.
You may disassociate from your body so your friends wonder is anybody home? Denying that there’s a problem is another way to cope. Or maybe you suppress thoughts or feelings burning inside so you can function in your day to day life.
But secondary strategies don’t resolve the problem, do they? You may feel better but never quite right. Instead symptoms bounce around inside you moving from one place to another. Or they come and go in the same place … getting better or worse depending on how much stress you’re dealing with.
At some point you may decide to give up and just live with the problem(s) because everything you’ve tried to make them go away hasn’t worked.
There is a solution
Animals in the wild automatically resolve traumatic events using internal reflexes to discharge bad things that happen to them. Humans with unresolved trauma also have the chance to discharge bad things that happened to them -- by working with practitioners trained in trauma healing techniques.
Trauma healing practitioners use three levels of your brain to resolve injuries that keep haunting you:
- higher cognitive functions
- emotional centers
- primitive responses
Sometimes the “fix” can be very quick – two to three sessions. Other times, when trauma’s linked to issues from the past, it takes longer to smooth things out.
You have options
Dr Linda’s been trained in Trauma Healing Techniques and offers those services to her clients and patients both over the phone and in face to face meetings. Sessions last one hour and are customized for your comfort.
You may lie down or sit in a chair while Dr Linda guides you through the process of contacting and discharging trauma. Sessions always end on a positive note, integrating the healing that’s happened during your time together.
As a bonus, the integration process often continues between meetings so you feel more and more comfortable in your body and your life. Special discounts are available for packages of three or more sessions.
